Do you have input for Peace and Social Concerns? Are there issues you would like addressed, programs you would like to have? Please respond to a survey available on the RFM website or pick one up a paper copy from the table in the vestibule. Although we cannot promise to take on all issues suggested, we would value your input when we set our priorities in early January. 100% Voting Congregation

Our State Legislative government has an enormous impact on how we individually and corporately live our Faith in our day to day lives. Your vote is one way to “speak Truth to Power” and support the enactment of policies that are congruent with our testimonies. This year, 100 % of our legislative seats are up for election, so it is an especially important year to vote.

To vote you must be registered and go to the proper polling place. To make sure that your registration is accurate or to register to vote, go to https://www.elections.virginia.gov/. League of Women Voters provides another portal to check registration in addition to providing information about your ballot. Their site is https://www.vote411.org/virginia
If you need assistance to access your information, there will be someone with their computer to assist you at the rise of Meeting this Sunday, October 15, 2023.
Deadlines:October 16th: deadline for on line and mail in registrationsSame Day registrations begin on Oct 17th. It is only available:in-person at the general registrar’s office for your localityat your satellite early voting site during the early voting periodat your precinct on Election Day.

Since moving to this country about a year ago, Mary Judith has been unable to work because of the status of her immigration documents. Joseph has consulted his lawyer, whom he has known for a long while, for legal help in changing the status of her documents. Their total bill is $4655 - $1950 for legal fees; $1450 for the cost of changing the status of immigration documents and $1450 for medical testing.

Richmond Friends Meeting can not be an intermediary in this cause, but individuals can financially help them if they are so led. Gifts are not tax-deductible. Any gift to them should be given to Joseph and Mary Judith directly. For their contact information, please contact Sylvia Shurcliff.

Upcoming Adult Spiritual Education Events

Adult Spiritual Education will be holding two sessions on the Pendle Hill pamphlet, "Reclaiming the Transcendent. God in Process" by Thomas Gates. Both sessions will be held on Saturdays from 9:30 to 11:00 and will be hybrid: available on Zoom and in person in the Worship Room.

October 14 - God is Less like a King and More Like an Energy Field. Pages 3 to the middle of page 9.
November 11 - The God/Gods You Don't Believe In. Pages 9 to 16
Pre-reading is strongly encouraged because we believe you will more deeply benefit from the ideas presented and we would love to benefit from your seasoned thoughts and reflections. Of course, we warmly welcome you whether you have read the pamphlet or not. We will have extra pamphlets available at the sessions, so if you're curious you'll be able to participate.
